Clear answers about what FIN covers, where it stops, and what it costs to begin.

aosfin.com is the web address of FIN, a financial operations platform owned and operated by Sthwalo Holdings (Pty) Ltd, a South African private company. FIN runs bookkeeping, source-document capture, inventory and sales, payroll, VAT, assets, budgets and statutory reporting in one company-scoped system.

FIN is a financial operations platform. It turns bank statements, source documents, invoices, inventory and sales records, payroll, VAT, assets and budgets into controlled accounting workflows, structured ledger records, reports and audit trails — all scoped to the company and fiscal period you are working in.

Business owners who need visibility, bookkeepers working across many client companies, accountants and finance teams responsible for the full cycle, and payroll administrators running repeatable pay runs. A practice can run many companies from one login, with staff reaching only the clients they are assigned.

Those are capable ledgers, and if your books are healthy there is no reason to move for its own sake. FIN is a different shape. The usual arrangement is a ledger, plus an add-on for documents, plus something for stock, plus a payroll package, plus a separate tool for annual financial statements, plus a company-secretarial service for CIPC registers — each with its own login, its own subscription and its own copy of the truth. FIN runs that whole cycle in one company-scoped system: bank import and classification, the source document retained against the transaction it supports, inventory and point of sale posting as accounting sources rather than silos, payroll, VAT 201, EMP201 and EMP501, income tax computation, annual financial statements, and the CIPC securities and beneficial-ownership registers. One ledger underneath all of it, so a figure in a report opens back to the entry and the scan behind it. For a practice, every client company sits behind one login with staff reaching only what they are assigned. What you would be giving up is maturity: FIN is young, and its integration catalogue is a fraction of what a twenty-year-old ecosystem offers — there is an integration marketplace with API clients and scoped access, but not hundreds of third-party apps waiting for you. It also holds no SARS, eFiling or bank-feed connection. If that trade is wrong for you, it is wrong — we would rather say so here than after you have moved your books.

No. The accounting core — double-entry posting, source documents, classification, statements, inventory and point of sale — is jurisdiction-neutral and works for any business. What is built out today is the South African statutory layer: SARS and CIPC are live, and the Department of Employment and Labour returns (uFiling, Compensation Fund) are in progress. Coverage for other jurisdictions is planned and is not in the product yet.

No. FIN prepares the outputs — VAT 201, EMP201, EMP501 and IRP5-style certificates — internally. You export or print them, submit them yourself, and then record the payment and the SARS reference back in FIN. There is no SARS API or eFiling connection, and none is implied.

Uploaded source documents — invoices, receipts, bank statements and transaction CSVs — are kept as their original files in a private, encrypted, versioned object store in the South African (Cape Town) region, reached only through short-lived, access-checked links. Keeping the source beside the resulting transactions is what makes review and reconciliation possible.

Yes. FIN is company-scoped throughout. Each company has its own fiscal periods, chart of accounts, branding and team access, and access is granted per company rather than across the whole organisation.

Trial balance, general ledger, cashbook, income statement, balance sheet, cash flow, income tax computation, VAT 201, payroll and inventory reports, management packs and Annual Financial Statements — exportable to PDF, CSV or XLSX. Every figure traces back to journal entries you can open.

Nothing. Signing up puts you on the free plan and takes no payment or card details — there is no trial clock to run out. Paid plans and add-ons are shown in your workspace once you are in, so you can see what FIN does with your own records before deciding what to pay for.
